The city has a population of over 8 million and spans 300 square miles. There is a vast array of attractions from museums to gardens. It is home to Central Park, a famous landmark which many Hollywood films have used as a back drop. There are three major airports, a public transportation system that includes the subway and taxi cabs that make getting around the city easy. There are restaurants and hotels around every corner. New York experiences four seasons with hot summers and cold winters.

“The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in New York City at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Its name is derived from the nickname for the state of New York. It stood as the world’s tallest building for more than forty years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center’s North Tower was completed in 1972. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building again became the tallest building in New York City and New York State.

When it was dedicated in 1886, the Statue of Liberty instantly stood as a beacon to all those who held on to hope and believed that better things awaited them in America. To this day, Lady Liberty can conjure a sense of awe in all who lay eyes upon her, and after more than a century she remains a popular attraction among visitors. The ferry trip out to Liberty Island is almost as exciting as a tour of the statue itself.
